Born in Leeds, England, to migrated parents from St. Kitts & Nevis in the Caribbean, Ryan left school at 16 to pursue his career as a professional football (soccer) player at Huddersfield Town.
Following this he had a career of over 20 years in the corporate sector, primarily in financial services with organisations including HSBC and AMP where he held a range of senior roles. Working in locations including the UK, Europe, North America & Asia.
